The VISA grant letter is here!

8 04 2009

Believe it or not, but yesterday I received a mail from my case officer.

I am pleased to advise you that I have finalised your spouse visa application and granted you a Permanent spouse visa subclass 100.

Can’t tell you how happy I am. And the best part is, that i was granted a permanent visa. This means, that there wont be a 2 year waiting period until I get the permanent one.
And by the way, Finlay also got his Certificate of Citizenship. He is now official an Australian Citizen. And not only that he is official German too :)

Fun with the AFP

It’s not that I didn’t know my visa application will be a hard long way, but a the moment it’s just crazy. After submitting all the documents my case officer asked for, she reminded me to provide an certificate of no criminal record from the AFP (Australian Federal Police). Not a big deal you may think, BUT to get this certificate from outside of Australia is just painful. The only way to pay the fee is by bank cheque, which is not very easy to get in Germany. It cost me 25,- € just to get the cheque plus the fee (which is about 37 AU$). Anyway I got everything together and send it off, just to realise 2 weeks later that the fee has increased to 43 AU$ and all send in applications without the right amount on the cheque will be send back without any action! Great!
Lets send in another application ….
